The authentic Xbox app for Windows, which used to encompass Xbox Live chat, an interest feed and extra, will soon grow to be a slimmer, more light-weight "Console Companion." For now, that simply approach a name exchange, even though in a previous message Microsoft also teased a brand new "computing device revel in."

While Microsoft hasn't been specific in what exactly this could suggest for the app, it does appear in all likelihood that social features which includes messaging and birthday party chat will flow into the Game Bar.
