What did the Nintendo 3DS mean to you Engadget

With this week's assertion of Nintendo's new Switch Lite console, we have been considering the handheld that preceded it: The Nintendo 3DS, a successor to the wildly popular DS that took the twin display and added the capability to display games in three-D -- with out glasses. When Engadget reviewed the primary version of the 3DS, it hit massive with its satisfying clamshell design, circle pad thumb slider and 320 x 240 touchscreen. Reviewer Tim Stevens discovered the 3-d gameplay a piece finicky but a nice enhancement to the photos first-class in titles like Ridge Racer 3 and Face Raiders.

No new first party titles had been announced this year, so it looks as if we might be pronouncing goodbye to this portable three-D console quickly. However, the 3DS become still famous enough to have spawned a number of hardware revisions, a library of almost 1,300 titles and, here on Engadget, a hefty amount of user evaluations and scores on our product pages. But the most latest of those opinions is still numerous years old.
