BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) for clients is shutting down for properly on May thirty first. When Indonesia-primarily based media conglomerate Emtek took over its development in2019, it redesigned the app with modern-day functions in hopes that it may better compete with more famous chat applications nowadays. Unfortunately, its efforts didn't drum up enough hobby in the new BBM.

Part of Emtek's statement reads:

"We poured our hearts into making this a fact, and we're happy with what we've built to date.

The generation industry but, could be very fluid, and notwithstanding our enormous efforts, customers have moved directly to other platforms, at the same time as new users proved difficult to join up."

According to CrackBerry, one of the reasons why Emtek'sBBM failed was because it became a bit too bloated with games, channels and ads -- extra features the enterprise version doesn't have. Now, to make up for the consumer version's shutdown, BlackBerry is making its enterprise-grade encrypted Messenger (BBMe) to be had for personal use.

BBMe is now available for Android gadgets, which include the BlackBerry KEY2 Red Edition, thru the Google Play Store. It may even land on Apple's App Store "soon." The utility is unfastened for the first year and will set customers again $2.49 for a six-month subscription later on -- it remains to be seen whether people will locate it true sufficient to pay for once they have a plethora of messaging apps to pick from.
