BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) for purchasers is shutting down for properly on May 31st. When Indonesia-based media conglomerate Emtek took over its improvement in2019, it redesigned the app with cutting-edge features in hopes that it is able to better compete with extra popular chat programs in recent times. Unfortunately, its efforts did not drum up enough hobby inside the new BBM.

Part of Emtek's statement reads:

"We poured our hearts into making this a fact, and we're proud of what we've got built so far.

The technology industry but, could be very fluid, and notwithstanding our sizeable efforts, customers have moved directly to other platforms, even as new users proved hard to join up."

According to CrackBerry, one of the reasons why Emtek'sBBM failed was because it became a bit too bloated with games, channels and ads -- extra features the enterprise version doesn't have. Now, to make up for the consumer version's shutdown, BlackBerry is making its agency-grade encrypted Messenger (BBMe) to be had for private use.

BBMe is now available for Android devices, which include the BlackBerry KEY2 Red Edition, through the Google Play Store. It may even land on Apple's App Store "soon." The utility is free for the primary yr and will set users lower back $2.49 for a six-month subscription later on -- it stays to be seen whether human beings will find it appropriate sufficient to pay for after they have a plethora of messaging apps to choose from.
